Pinewood Derby - 2012
The Pinewood Derby for 2012 will be held at the
Wixom Community Center on Sunday, February 12th, 2012
Registration begins at 1:15PM, with racing beginning at 2:00PM
Time Trails will be held at Wixom Elementary School on
Wednesday February 8th from 7:00PM to 8:00PM

Michaels - Has decals, paint, and other supplies. (Please note - Michaels also sells kits that are
NOT sanctioned by the Cub Scouts.
These kits will not be allowed to race.)

To qualify for the
Pinewood Derby
your car must:

Be made from the
official Pinewood Derby kits.

Axles must be the
nail type axles
-
Wheels MUST be the
official BSA wheels – Color wheels (BSA branded) are acceptable.

Additional
accessories may be added as long they are within the specified
dimensions
-
Be gravity powered.
-
No Springs
-
No Rubber bands
-
No Motors
-
No Explosives.
-
Weigh no more the 5
ounces
-
Have all four wheels
touching the surface together
-
Be no longer than 7
inches
-
Be no wider than 2 ¾
inches
-
Wheels must be at
least 1 ¾ inches apart
-
Have dry paint
-
Have dry glue
-
Use only dry
lubricants
-
Have no loose parts
-
